Have you ever been curious how your watercolor paint is made? Do you want to become more connected to your artist materials? Want a new take on a watercolor class? If you answered yes then this course is for you! In the first part of the course students will learn various methods to make watercolor paint. This will include: how to source synthetic pigments, how to make lake (plant based) pigments, and how to process foraged mineral pigments. Students will learn recipes and how lightfastness plays into watercolor. Everyone will leave with 7 different paints that they have created! The second part of the course will focus on how to paint with watercolor. Students will learn fundamental techniques to create realistic paintings.
