Richard Farr grew up in England, has a Ph.D. in philosophy from Cornell, taught on the philosophy faculty at Colgate University and The University of Hawaii, ran his own corporate communications business for ten years, and has been a full time writer since 2008. His first book, 'Emperors of the Ice', is about Antarctic exploration; it was a 'National Science Teachers Association Best Book of the Year', and won a Washington State Book Award. More recently, he is the author of a science fiction series with a philosophical twist: 'The Fire Seekers', 'Ghosts in the Machine', and 'Infinity’s Illusion'—collectively 'The Babel Trilogy'. When not writing - or staring out of the window - he likes to hike with his golden retriever, Darwin, and go sea-kayaking. More online at www.richardfarr.net.
