Kyle Lockhart

Kyle Lockhart first discovered ceramics during high school and quickly found himself putting in extra hours for assignments and routinely staying late after class. After two semesters he became completely hooked and knew he wanted to pursue ceramics the rest of his life. Kyle continued studying ceramics right here at North Seattle College from 2006 through 2008, then transferred to the University of Washington to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in ceramics. At various times, he has also been a studio assistant and production potter for three different artists. His work is mostly wheel made sculptures involving multiple pieces, altered, and then joined together. He enjoys the design aspect of functional wheel made work as well. Currently, Kyle is the kiln/lab technician for the ceramics department, hoping to keep the clay and glazes flowing, and the kilns firing in tip top shape.
