Karen Briggs has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. She earned her Economics degree from Washington State University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. She holds the following securities registrations: Series 7, 24, 63, through LPL Financial, and Series 65 through Householder Group Estate and Retirement Specialists. Karen is also licensed through the state of Washington for life, health and disability insurance. She authored the forward to the book ‘VALUES BASED FINANCIAL PLANNING: The Art of Creating an Inspiring Financial Strategy’ focusing on her experience and expertise in the financial industry.
Upon graduation from college, Karen began her career in the financial industry with a position in the Operations Department of a nationwide investment firm’s branch in downtown Seattle. After obtaining her CFP® certification, she opened her own Registered Investment Advisory firm, and then merged with Householder Group Estate & Retirement Specialists, LLC. Householder Group has given her practice and clients a level of nationwide support with a team of financial specialists that allows her to continue helping people make sound financial decisions, while still enjoying her entrepreneurial spirit.
Karen is a Regional Vice President of Householder Group Estate & Retirement Specialists. She is also a Registered Representative with LPL Financial, the largest independent broker dealer in the nation (as reported by Financial Planning magazine, June 1996-2019, based on total revenue). As a Registered Investment Advisory firm, Householder Group specializes in developing and implementing retirement and estate plans for private clients. The firm incorporates advanced tax planning techniques to minimize income and estate taxes, and utilizes appropriate investment strategies in order to focus on capital preservation and multi-generational wealth management.
In addition to her professional achievements, Karen is a lifetime resident of Edmonds, enjoys activities with her family, also local residents. She is very involved in her family’s annual reunion, a tradition that has been ongoing for 50 years. Karen is also passionate about and devotes time to the I Have a Dream Foundation, YWCA Pathways for Women, and Homeward Pet Adoption Center, a no-kill pet shelter. She also enjoys skiing, camping and travel.
