New Instructors and New Classes

Join us in welcoming these new instructors to Continuing Education. What a time to start! They are getting to know our program while also adapting their courses to provide meaningful, engaging opportunities for lifelong learning in an online environment. We have been inspired by their energy and commitment!

Arts Instructor Victoria JohnVictoria John, Twentieth Century Art; The Growth of Abstraction Victoria is passionate about art and teaching. She has been teaching for 35 years and values making connections between the arts, course content and a student’s life experiences. Her teaching style is to offer an educational experience, as well as a relaxed environment for learning.

 

 

 

Arts Computer skills instructor Julia MarshallJulia Marshall, Graphic Design for Creatives Originally from Los Angeles, Julia moved to Seattle 3 years ago to pursue her career as a full-time creator. Through designing and carrying out art production, she is known for her joyful spirit and love for creativity.

 

 

 

Cloud computing instructor Robert BungeRobert Bunge, AWS Cloud Foundations Robert has led the IT department at North Seattle College since 2014. His IT courses cover topics ranging from networking to programming to IT security. He has taught with multiple colleges and universities, at all levels of learning. He holds Amazon Web Services Certification and has been teaching that and other cloud technology for 10 years. He considers himself a lifelong educator and a lifelong learner.

 

 

 

Adult Family Home Instructor Dorothy SchlimmeDorothy Schlimme: Adult Family Home Administrator Course
Dorothy joined CE last spring and is teaching a section of our Adult Family Home Administrator Course. She serves as an instructor with many accolades and experiences. She is also the co-owner of an award-winning Family Home, Angel Haven in Auburn Washington.

 

 

 

Adult Family Home Instructor James PutnamJames Putnam: Adult Family Home Administrator Course
Jim joins us with much teaching experience as well as hands-on Adult Home Management experience through his co-ownership of Sunrise House with his wife Joan. Sunrise House serves clients with physical and mental challenges and challenging behaviors.

Intermediate Spanish Conversation IIIntermediate Spanish class

Continue enhancing your Spanish speaking skills and feel more confident when communicating with native speakers. Build vocabulary for contexts that reflect a wide variety of situations. As always, we will include a cultural component that will explore Latin American history, music, geography, and current events. Learn from a native speaker with over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. This is an immersive class conducted in Spanish and ideal for intermediate students.

 


Jazz Piano Pro Essentials jazz Piano professional essentials

Jazz Piano Pro Essentials is a twelve-hour online course that teaches you the essential techniques necessary to perform jazz music on the piano. Students will work in a self-paced format – login at any time to do your lessons!

 

 


Fitness at HomeFitness at Home 

Get fit and have a blast! Using your body weight, this instructor-led, real-time workout offers community and accountability to meet your fitness goals. You’ll get full-body conditioning to help develop strength, balance, and flexibility. All levels welcome. Grab a water bottle and towel and be ready to get strong!

 


Ceramics For AllCeramics for All

Explore the basics of working with clay or advance your love of ceramics at home using the fundamental building techniques of coils, pinch pots, and slab building. Class will be structured around projects or themes that include weekly demos. We will focus on 3-4 small scale projects. Students will deliver and pick up their work for firing.
