Beginning Sewing

No more struggling through sewing projects; learn to sew the fun and easy way! Practice pattern reading, choosing the right fabrics and laying out fabric to create a finished piece you can be proud of. Whether you want to redecorate your home, make crafts or clothes, we'll get you stitching in the right direction. You will sew 3 projects in class with fabric and patterns provided for projects 1 and 2.  A fabric guide sheet will be provided at the first class session for project 3; student must purchase fabric for the third project; pattern provided by instructor.  Please bring a sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot control, bobbins, operator's manual (if available), sharp scissors, tape measure and straight pins. See Textbook and Supply List for complete Sewing Supply List. Material Fee of $30.00 is due to the Instructor at the first session.

  • O'Lisa is clearly very knowledgeable but she's still patient enough with us as we are slow, make mistakes, or are not quite prepared for class. I really appreciated the engaging and low-stakes atmosphere. It made me look forward to class and felt fun. I still can't believe that we accomplished as much as we did.
