Shakespeare in the Sun!

All the worlds a stage! Including our local parks and Continuing Ed classrooms! Step into the lively, surprising world of Shakespeare in this interactive summer “taster” course that blends hands-on theatre workshops with a field trip to a FREE live outdoor performance of Shakespeare in the Park. Through playful exploration and guided discussion, you’ll discover two of Shakespeare’s classics—The Winter’s Tale and Macbeth.

We’ll dive into the hilarious, romantic, tragic, dark and quick-witted world of these two plays. Workshops will explore themes, characters, and plot points as entry points. We’ll also look at how the plays have been staged and adapted over time, and discuss how Shakespeare continues to evolve in today. No prior Shakespeare or theatergoing experience necessary. In fact, if you were the student lost in English class because Shakespeare didn’t jump off the page, this class is for YOU!
