Teresa Ramón Joffre
I am a Spanish language educator and professional translator with more than 25 years of experience teaching learners of all ages, from preschoolers to college students. I have taught at institutions such as the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano, Bellevue College, University of Washington, and Seattle University. I have been teaching at Seattle Colleges since 2015.
I hold an M.A. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Washington, where I focused on colonial and postcolonial Indigenous resistance in Perú through historical and literary perspectives. I am also a Washington State certified translator and hold a TEFL certificate.
I weave my love of Peruvian and Latin American culture into my teaching, aiming to cultivate in students a deeper appreciation for Spanish, the diverse cultures of the Americas, and the people who carry them, while building a strong sense of community.
