Andrea E. Gogröf, born and educated in Europe, studied at the art institute Académie Charpentier in Paris, France. She earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of Washington, and she is teaching at Western Washington University at the Department of Global Humanities and Religions. Throughout her career, she has continued to paint, always curious to learn through classes (including those offered at NSC), workshops and group work in her own studio in Seattle. Her main interest is in abstract art, mixed media, collage, with a specialization in oil and cold wax painting. Andrea exhibits at local galleries, happy to sell her art, grateful to be able to do professionally what she likes to do personally. In her free time, Andrea learns new languages, cultivates her studies of film and is an enthusiastic player of pickleball.
