Connie Amundson

Connie Amundson, DC, PhD

Coming from a background in theater, I realized early in my adulthood that pursuing your dreams depends on the optimal functioning of your instrument, that is, your body, mind, and spirit. The desire to help others lead fulfilling lives led me to a career in chiropractic which has always included attention to three components of health: structure, chemistry, and mind/emotions. Ignoring one leg of this three-legged stool means that optimal well-being cannot be achieved. As my clientele has aged right along with me in my 40+ years of practice, I feel especially fortunate to help many seniors “live better longer.”

As a resident of Seattle, I take advantage of our many opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, swimming, camping, kayaking, and skiing. A few years ago I took up a long-delayed dream of studying Norwegian and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington where I received a Master’s Degree in 2018 and a PhD in 2023. I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Medical Humanities from the University of Maine and continue my practice of and scholarship about theater-in-health, thereby combining my two great passions.
