Spring at Seattle Art Galleries
What better way to celebrate the lush imagery of spring than to explore the art galleries in Seattle. We will meet weekly at local galleries to hear talks, ask questions, and peruse the space. Following each visit, we will gather for afternoon tea or coffee to discuss the art and share interests. A sampling of galleries includes Greg Kucera, Foster/White, Stonington, ArtX Contemporary, Gray Sky, Harris Harvey, Steinbrueck Native Gallery, and SAM Gallery. Whether you are a seasoned gallery visitor or a newcomer, you are welcome to take part in this harbinger of spring as you experience the Seattle art scene.

North Seattle Community Orchestra
The North Seattle Community Orchestra (NSCO) is an inclusive, community-based ensemble open to musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Modeled after the Philadelphia Community Orchestra (PCO), the NSCO provides a welcoming space for those who want to make music together-whether you are returning to your instrument after many years, picking it up for the first time, or seeking new creative challenges. The orchestra explores an eclectic repertoire that goes beyond the traditional canon. Our programs feature rarely heard works from the past, alongside experimental, improvised, and contemporary music from the 20th and 21st centuries. We also work with graphic and text-based scores that make participation accessible to players with varying levels of musical training.
Rehearsals take place every other Saturday at North Seattle College through the Continuing Education program, offering participants the chance to build community while developing their musicianship in a collaborative, supportive environment. The NSCO values curiosity, openness, and creativity over technical perfection-focusing on the joy of discovery and the shared experience of making music.
Whether you are a seasoned musician or brand new to ensemble playing, the North Seattle Community Orchestra invites you to join in and help create something adventurous, inclusive, and uniquely rooted in our neighborhood.

Flying Saucer Cinema - Spring
This classic science fiction film appreciation class showcases beloved films that cry out for viewing in a group setting the way they were first presented to the world. Each week will bring something new, films ranging from Golden Age sci-fi of the 1950s and 60s to the dystopian science fiction of the 1970s and occasional forays beyond.Host Eric Cohen will be your guide and provide you with film information, trivia, and lively post-screening discussion every week. We welcome in the spring of 2026 with Reptilicus, a ridiculous yet endearing Danish-American 1961 monster movie about a reconstituted dinosaur-type creature with kaiju aspirations. Things get darker in our second entry for the quarter, Night of the Demon, the 1957 Jacques Tourneur (Cat People, Out of the Past) horror classic about an American parapsychologist (film heavy Dana Andrews) who travels to England to investigate a satanic cult. Mixing things up, we then turn to the 1972 gonzo Frogs, an “eco-horror story” in which leading man Ray Milland, an old-school patriarch lording over a private island mansion, is confronted by a host of very angry amphibians, snakes, birds, leeches, lizards, and butterflies. To end the quarter on an upbeat note, we will be screening the groovy 1966 Italian psychedelic science fiction wonder Wild, Wild Planet, a swinging camp classic about a mad scientist bent on engineering a superior race of beings (Move over, Dr. Evil!).
Whether you are a seasoned science fiction film buff or simply want to put your head in a different place for a couple of hours every week, this will be an engaging, fun adventure of a class you won't want to miss!
