Fresh from the Garden-No Stove Summer Meals
This online class helps you plan your summer garden around fresh, no-cook meals—perfect for warm days and small spaces. Designed for raised beds and containers in the Seattle area, you’ll learn what to plant and harvest in early summer for food you can eat straight from the garden.You’ll plan three themed beds: the No-Cook Garden with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, basil, and mint; the Smoothie Garden with strawberries, carrots, kale, spinach, and beet greens; and the Snacking Garden with snap peas, baby carrots, radishes, and edible flowers.
We’ll cover what to grow now, what to harvest soon, and how to keep plants healthy through dry spells with tips on watering, placement, and pest prevention. You’ll also get simple, no-cook recipes for each garden theme so you can use what you grow without turning on the stove. With planning worksheets, growing guides, and planting timelines provided, this class will have you hitting the ground running this summer. No experience needed, just an interest in food and a plan to grow it.

Basic Carpentry and Woodworking
Do you have power tools and want to learn to use them safely and effectively? Learn the basics of joinery, jigs, materials, methods and project design. After selecting your materials, you'll apply everything you've learned to safely use hand and power tools (circular saw and drill) in the construction and assemblage of your own toolbox, sewing box, garden box, etc. This class will show you that you don't need a wood shop for tackling your next project! Emailed instructions and class room location will be provided a few days before the first class.

Basic Hands-On Home Repair and Maintenance
Through hands-on techniques and classroom demonstrations, learn a variety of home improvement and maintenance skills. Gain confidence as you learn about hand tools, how to work with electrical outlets, switches, lighting; plumbing, faucets, wall repair and more. Get an overview of door and window installation, weatherization and remodeling. You will leave feeling confident in performing your own home repairs and maintenance. No textbooks are needed but a general home repair book (Readers Digest, Black & Decker, etc.) might enhance class demos. Emailed instructions will be provided a few days before the first class.

Donut Baking 101: Warm, Fresh & Glazed
In this donut baking class, you’ll learn how to make classic cake donuts from scratch. Chef Michele will guide you step by step as you mix, fry, glaze, and decorate your own batch. Choose vanilla bean or chocolate glaze and use her simple coating techniques to finish them off.You’ll also receive recipes for fritters, yeast donuts, and baked donuts to try on your own. As a bonus, you’ll get access to a pre-recorded video where Chef Michele shows you how to make yeast donuts from start to finish. You can watch anytime and follow along at your own pace.
Students will receive a class prep packet, recipes, and a video recording of the class. Course price includes two people attending from one kitchen; only one person is required to register and pay for the course. Only the registered student will receive course link and associated video recordings.

Carpentry & Woodworking: Advanced Adirondack Chair
Have you taken our Basic Carpentry and Woodworking class? Looking for advanced projects to hone your skills? You are invited to continue your woodworking journey as we add to our understanding and comfort of using both stationary and portable power tools in the design and construction of an Adirondack Chair. We will be fabricating the various pieces into the desired shapes using jig saws, routers, sanders and miter saws. The use of jigs, patterns and templates will enable us to create the many pieces for this unique and very comfortable summertime chair.Basic Carpentry and Woodworking I is required before attending Woodworking II and can be accomplished in the same quarter. Emailed instructions and will be provided a few days before the first class.

From Plan to Plate: Grow an Edible Garden by Flavor Theme
If you love to cook and want to grow your own ingredients, this course is a practical starting point. This beginner-friendly online class focuses on small-space gardening and shows you how to plan edible beds around flavor themes that match how you cook. Chef Michele walks you through four themed planting plans: a Pizza Garden, a Salsa Garden, a Salad Garden, and an Herb Garden. You’ll get straightforward advice on which plants to grow, where to put them, and when to start. The class includes region-specific tips, container and raised bed layouts, and ideas for companion planting. You’ll also get simple recipes for each garden theme, so you’ll know what to cook with what you grow. With planning worksheets, growing guides, and planting timelines provided, this class will have you hitting the ground running this spring.
