Abstract Oils with Cold Wax Medium and Mixed Media
Discover a new creative medium when you combine the classic, rich surfaces of oil painting with the translucent depth and varied textures of cold wax. Exploring these mediums along with acrylic, charcoal, pastels, and ink, including collage, we experiment, discover and learn new ways to give expression to our inner landscape of forms and color.

Get creative while further developing skills learned in an introductory drawing course or beginning oil painting class. Students will explore more individual paths depending on their interests, while getting feedback from the instructor as well as the group. Some students may wish to advance their skills in observational still-life, while some may be working more abstractly, from photo, or from memory. We will be building on previous knowledge of the materials, whether that be graphite, ink, charcoal, collage or oil paint. We will look at artists both contemporary and historical to inform new techniques and concepts for both drawing and oil painting.
This class is already in session. Please contact our office at conted@seattlecolleges.edu or 206-934-3705 to inquire about late registration.
